The Dog Translator

I began working with dogs professionally about 10 years ago. I got a part-time job as a kennel attendant, started putting an some extra hours on the weekends learning how to bathe and groom, until eventually I quit my union job. I was done with labor work and dogs were my new passion. After about a 2 or 3 years of grooming, I started to learn about behavioral conditioning and training dog sports. It immediately drew my interest. The company I was working for at the time did not offer training and was not interested in adding it to the business, it was more of grooming establishment with part-time kenneling so I eventually moved to a new company that did have training where I learned a lot of valuable tools. On the side was able to make a little business for myself, until I was well enough established to move on. I believe I could work for myself and possibly even bring new training methods and techniques to the field, that no one is using or even thought of yet because they are not published, or in a book somewhere but to sum it all up I am a passionate animal enthusiast with a deep appreciation for not only the physical and learning abilities of dog but using those abilities that have been bred into them for centuries and finding ways to use them in our everyday life today.
